About the Academy
Inter Gijón focuses exclusively on women’s football development. Our program combines high-level coaching, individualized player plans, and a holistic approach that balances performance, education, and well-being. All sessions are led by UEFA-licensed coaches and conditioning experts with experience in women’s soccer.
Training Structure
- Initial Evaluation: Physical testing (speed, agility, jump), technical review (first touch, passing, dribbling), and a mental-skills and motivation assessment.
- Individual Plan: Objectives per player (finishing, positioning, explosive power) and tailored micro-cycles.
- Team Sessions: Implementation of game systems such as 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, transitions, pressing, and positional play.
- Physical Work: Strength, power, endurance, and injury prevention.
- Video Analysis: Weekly sessions with personal and team feedback.
- Goalkeeper Training: Specialized sessions run by goalkeeper coaches.
- Mental & Nutritional Support: Sports psychologist and nutritionist available to all players.
- Progress Reports: Delivered periodically to each player and family.
Competition
Players join local or regional teams to gain authentic match experience. Depending on age and length of stay, the academy arranges competitive placements, friendlies, or tournament participation.
All logistics - transportation, uniforms, medical coverage, and match staffing - are handled by Inter Gijón. Video highlights and reports are shared with scouts and U.S. university programs.
Federation licenses and international clearances are managed directly through the academy.
Residence & Player Care
The residence offers a full-board setup with 24-hour supervision. Rooms are double or single, cleaned weekly, and follow clear standards of conduct.
Meals are prepared under the guidance of a sports nutritionist and adapted for dietary needs.
Medical and physio support are available on-site. Families receive regular updates on player progress, and staff perform weekly facility checks to maintain safety and comfort.
Education & Life Skills
Players can take Spanish lessons (A1–C1 levels) with football-related vocabulary, receive academic tutoring, and join career workshops on scholarships and agent outreach.
Sports-psychology sessions focus on adaptation and mindset, while life-skills workshops cover topics such as budgeting, healthy eating, professional etiquette, and responsible social-media use.
Culture & Lifestyle
Cultural activities include local sightseeing, professional match attendance, and day trips to Oviedo, Santander, or the Picos de Europa — depending on schedule and season.
